How We Grade

Precision in Every Pair. Confidence in Every Grade.

20 Factors. One Trusted Result.

Our patented system evaluates multiple aspects of each sneaker to ensure an objective, data-backed grade. While the full methodology is proprietary, our grading algorithm carefully examines key categories, including:

  • Wear: Overall signs of use or wear on the sneaker.
  • Outsole: Tread wear, traction loss, and condition.
  • Midsole: Scuffs, paint cracking, or compression.
  • Upper Material: Leather, suede, or textile integrity.
  • Laces: Fraying, replacement, or cleanliness.
  • Toe Box: Creasing, shape retention, or discoloration.
  • Heel: Wear, deformation, or marks.
  • Shoe Shape: Overall structure and form consistency.
  • Features: Special elements like logos, stitching, or embellishments.
  • Interior: Lining, insoles, odor, and signs of use.

These categories, along with other proprietary factors, feed into our patented grading algorithm to deliver a precise, objective, and consistent GSC grade.

Every pair of Graded Shoes is accompanied by an official GSC label, which details key information about the pair.

The GSC label ensures traceability, authenticity, and peace of mind for all collectors.

The 100-Point GSC Scale

Unworn (UW90 - UW100):

These sneakers show no visible signs of wear and have never been worn.
UW90 sneakers may have minor aging effects, manufacturing flaws, or detractions in eye appeal.
UW100 sneakers exhibit outstanding eye appeal, zero signs of production imperfections, and no aging effects.

Worn (W90 - W100):

Worn sneakers range from W89 (only the slightest visibility of minor wear) to W01 (near ungradable due to breakdown).
Condition is determined by visible sole wear, creasing, scuffing, material breakdown, and overall structural integrity.

Key Factors in Grading

Wear Levels – Determines placement on the Worn or Unworn scale.
Age-Related Factors – Glue separation, yellowing, color fading, and material degradation.
Manufacturing Quality – Structural integrity and factory defects affecting aesthetic appeal.
Overall Eye Appeal – The sneaker’s visual presence and desirability.
